CDMA Cell Phones: Giving GSM A Run
November 26, 2009 3:45 am TechnologyI thought cell phones were just cell phones, until the day I found out I had what are known as CDMA Cell Phones. I was due for a semester of study abroad in Europe, and only found out the hard way that there are different cell phone standards around the world. It turns out that while CDMA is the most widely used standard in the United States, most of the rest of the world use something called GSM, which also happens to be a newer technology. The differences are really technical, however, and it’s up to the poor consumer to suffer when conflicts arise!
