One of the most world famous tourist attractions in the United States is the Grand Canyon. Visitors from all over the globe travel to this magnificent national landmark in Arizona, most of which is located within the Grand Canyon National Park. Some interesting Facts About The Grand Canyon is that with a length of 277 miles, it stretches from Arizona right up to the state of Colorado. At the point where it is the widest it measures 18 miles across. It is one mile deep and it will take you almost 2 days to reach the bottom if you travel by horse or by foot. Although there are 2 canyons that are deeper than the Grand Canyon, namely Mexico’s Barranca de Cabre and Hell’s Canyon located in Idaho, the sheer beauty and vastness of the Grand Canyon can’t be surpassed.

The Grand Canyon is a natural wonder that is truly immense in size. It consists of 2 separate parts namely the North Rim (on the Utah side) and the South Rim (on the Arizona side). It all started millions of years ago when the ice of the last ice age melted at a rapid pace.
