Iowa boosts Film Industry
January 25, 2008 4:13 pm NewsThe state of Iowa took steps to boost the development of the film industry in the state by passing legislation to create Iowa Film Tax Credits. Film producers for movies and television are eligible to apply for tax credits based upon the total amount of eligible expenditures that they make within the state.
The film industry in the state has seen significant growth since the popular movie Bridges of Madison County hit the silver screen. The industry has grown to include local casting agencies and production facilities, including professional writers and actor guilds. The tax credit program should continue to spur the production of big screen movies within the state.
