Hickory dickory dock, My parents still have our antique mantel clocks.

When I was growing up my parents had these old antique mantel clocks. They used to tell us stories about how they got them. One of them my father said he discovered in the second world war laying out in the battle field. It was still in good condition so he saved it. He said once that clock saved his life. It was lodged in his battle gear and when he took a bullet the clock stopped it between the gears inside the wood. What was truly amazing is that only 2 sprockets were damaged but the clock still worked after replacing them. As an interesting way to Cristen that clock for saving his life he said he melted the bullet into one of the sprockets to commemorate the amazing moment he found it.
