Finding a Good Gift for a New Baby

It seems like all of my girlfriends are having babies in the near future, and I am trying to figure out what I should get for them. I know what I can get for my friends, but I want to get something little for the baby as well. However, I am having a hard time finding toys that are okay for really little babies. So far the only one I have found that I like is the Sophie the Giraffe toy. I am hoping that this will work out well, or that I can come up with some other ideas as well.
