Why my partner is reluctant to return faulty goods

Unlike me, he doesnt think of the environment when purchasing these cheap items which are often shipped from China or Hong Kong. Admittedly, the majority of these items are only a few pounds each in value, but what irks me is that many of them are delivered in shoddy packaging and are scratched or cracked. His latest fad was to buy our own set of 3-d glasses for viewing (the scarce number of) televised movies. I was not too surprised to notice that the lens of one pair of these flimsy glasses had cracked presumably in transit. However, my partner is so reluctant to return faulty goods, particularly when they are low in value, that he ends up paying out for the items again, by re-ordering from more reputable firms closer to home. When will he learn that you get what you pay for!
