What do the marriage statistics say about Jewish dating services?
February 28, 2008 3:10 pm HomeThere are around 2.3 million marriages a year here in the US. That’s a healthy 7.5 per 1,000 people. And that’s a lot of healthy dating!Makes me wonder if the Jewish marriage rate is significantly different to this.I’m wondering because it seems to me more likely that a rather conservative, culture-conscious group, like young Jewish people, would have a higher than average marriage rate. Wouldn’t it be the case that marriages would be more frequent, and more thoughtfully made, in a group like this where decisions on a spouse have to be taken more carefully than other groups which do not have the same tight ties and solid cultural identity? I think so.For this reason a good Jewish dating service, or a dating site that caters for young Jews, would probably be a good business.
