Flooring Alternative

I like the look of hardwood floors and what probably interests me most is that I would not have to vacuum as much. Granted, I will have to sweep, but that is not nearly as bad as vacuuming. So, with the look and the less maintenance I would really like to look into bamboo hardwood floor. Again, I hear that the aspect of maintenance is lower on the bamboo because of its high durability. I have often heard that if I just went with straight wood that I would see scratches in it almost immediately and I probably would not like the look.
