Do people still get these?

I am doing some research into breast implants and the women who get them. I have recently heard about someone getting polypropylene breast implants, and this really surprises me since I am pretty sure they are no longer legal here, and that they are not really very safe. Do people still get these? Why would they get them when there are other types of safer implants available? Can anyone tell me where I can get more information about these breast implants and the health implications involved with them? I am really curious about this. How do people find doctors to do the surgery?
