May 4, 2011 11:33 am Health and FitnessWomen and men are becoming more and more like equals. When women become mother at a later age like 40 and above, then they have a higher incidence of having children with mental retardation like Down’s Syndrome. Recent statistics show that, despite not carrying the child to term, men may also contribute to the risk of having children with abnormalities when they opt to go for late fatherhood.
Similar to women, men also possess a biological clock, this means, their fertility rate and capacity for siring healthy children decrease as they age. Data shows that men who are 40 and above may run the risk of fathering children with autism, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and a host of other conditions.
