Have You Ever Used a Public Address System?

It has been quite some time since I used one of the PA Systems that were available. At that time, the paging system was done through the switchboard base. It was comprised of number codes. Everyone in the administrative staff had a number assigned to them. When I pushed the page button and entered the number, it came over the loud speaker in the shop as bell tones. If it sounded your number of bells, you needed to get to the nearest phone and enter a number, which I forget now, in order to answer the page. Of course, that was over twenty-five years ago. They have come a long way since then.
