Tent Event

I was driving by the mall the other day and I saw a humongous sign posted on a billboard stating there was a tent event coming to town this weekend. The tent event was for surplus cars for sale and it recommended bringing cash and leaving in a new car. Can it be true that you could really buy and own a car outright for very little money because of a surplus in the market of cars? I would think that a reputable manufacturer would know how to get rid of surplus cars, but to sell them for such a little price? Could it be possible?
