The west coast of the United States seemingly has it all as the southern California attractions make it one of the best places to vacation all on its own. Beautiful weather all year long, the Pacific Ocean and the incredible beaches, and the top notch hotels that the area enjoys are just the beginning as there is so much more that it is really difficult to even see and do a fraction of it even if you dedicate a large chunk of time to the vacation. So plan out which southern California attractions that you must see or do beforehand so you can fit it all in and make reservations beforehand, because it is one of the most popular places to vacation for a reason.   

Sunday Paper

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always gotton the Sunday edition of the San Francisco Chronicle. I think this tradition traces back to my mother. She would get the paper for the many pages of coupons. With a two sons to support, she wanted to save money whereever she could. Recently, I would looking through the travel section. I’m seeing ads that advertise various Inexpensive Vacations that seem a bit too good to be true i.e. $500 to travel to China or India. I haven’t been out of state for about 5 years now. Perhaps it’s about time to check out a BBB approved, travel agent and check out the validity of these ads.

Our Trip

My husband and I are planning a trip to Bali very soon. We have a four month old baby that we will not be able to take with us. I do not like the idea of our baby flying on the airplane and not being able to pop his ears. He would just be screaming, and other passengers would probably get annoyed with us. My mother has offered to watch him while we are gone. We have already looked into reserving one of the villas in Seminyak. They looked really nice. All we have to do now is pick what day we will leave!

Heading to an Island

I was opposed to the vacation from the start. My friend and her husband were sold on it though, and there was no talking anyone out of it. I tried to explain that none of us had ever even heard of Kauai, let alone had any Kauai vacation ideas. None of it mattered once we stepped out of the car, though. The beach was like something out of a movie set. It was too picturesque to look away from, and all of us felt much like we were in a dream. Add to that great food, excellent wines, and views from picture books around every corner, it was a great vacation.

Bases Loaded

SoftBank Mobile, currently the only carrier offering the iPhone in Japan, added more subscribers in July than any other Japanese telecom, in part due to the launch of the iPhone. Tech-On reports that competing carrier KDDI had more cancellations with mobile number portability (MNP) than subscriptions with MNP for the first time in July, with cancellations temporarily increasing following the iPhone’s launch. “SoftBank’s other handsets might have drawn interest in the wake of the iPhone’s release as well,” a KDDI spokesperson said. “We are, however, not sure if the impact will continue from now.” By comparison, SoftBank posted a net growth of 52,000 subscriptions, with the company stating that “[w]e believe our large net growth was an iPhone effect.” iPod Touch

The iPhone continues to be the most used cameraphone, according to monthly statistics from photo sharing site Flickr. After gaining the lead, and then briefly losing it to the rival Nokia N95, the iPhone has once again taken the lead in cameraphone use, possibly propelled by sales of the iPhone 3G. The site’s Apple camera page (the company previously made a line of QuickTake digital cameras) shows that in a little more than a year, over 3.3 million photos have been uploaded from iPhones, with 1,298 average daily users. Apple products, in particular the iPhone, are drawing increased attention from hackers as they gain in popularity worldwide, according to an AFP report. “There are more eyes looking over Apple products for vulnerabilities,” security vulnerability analyst Cameron Hotchkies said in an interview at the annual DefCon hacker conference. Hotchkies pointed to the soon-after-release “jailbreaking” of the iPhone 3G as an example, saying “it shows people are getting proficient at analyzing Apple software.” “There are people looking at the iPhone. We pass vulnerabilities on to vendors, and when I communicate with Apple the first thing they ask is if we’ve tested it on the iPhone. They don’t want to be surprised,” Hotchkies added.
